Requesting items

Newspapers in our collection can be discovered via the interim catalogue.

Find out how to request items before you visit the Library.

  • Simple search – enter a title or place in the search box and filter using ‘newspapers’ from the ‘resource type’ menu.

  • Advanced search – enter a place name, title etc. in the search box and select ‘newspapers’ from the ‘material type’ dropdown. Enter language and dates if required.

You will be given an indication as to whether the material ‘Should be’ or is ‘Not’ available. You can then place a request to view the item using the online form.

Newspapers on microfilm are held in St Pancras, London, and are available to request to all Reading Rooms via the online ordering form.
