Our Map Library collections include sheet maps, atlases, globes and globe gores, Ordnance Survey maps, fire insurance plans, admiralty charts, and maritime maps and views. These collections, which all have the shelfmark prefix 'Maps', are predominantly printed maps and map-related items from all parts of the world, and can be searched for in our main catalogue.
Maps are stored in St Pancras, London, and are only available to consult in the Maps Reading Room on Floor 3. This is with the exception of maps belonging to the Western Manuscripts collections, which must be consulted in the Manuscripts Reading Room on Floor 2.
The India Office Map Library collections, with shelfmark prefix 'IOR', can be consulted either in the Asian & African Studies Reading Room or the Maps Reading Room, both on Floor 3.
