British Library Readers can now access electronic legal deposit at the five other legal deposit libraries in the UK and Ireland.
Electronic legal deposit isn’t currently available in the Reading Rooms here at the British Library while we recover from a significant cyber-attack.
The National Libraries of Wales and Scotland, the Bodleian Libraries, Cambridge University Library and the Library of Trinity College Dublin are now providing access to this material via an interim platform, which can be used onsite in their reading rooms.
At this stage, access is available to electronic legal deposit content collected prior to October 2023.
Please note: It also doesn’t provide access to the UK Web Archive, for which a different solution is required.
If you’re a British Library Reader, you can now access this material at these libraries. You will need to apply for a free Reader Pass at the library you wish to visit. Please check the instructions for the library you need before you visit.
